Snapshots of remote communities in Rural Victoria 2007

 

The Snapshots of Remote Communities project is a photography, storytelling and collecting project. It asks primary students living in rural and remote ares across Australia to document their community and to tell their stories.

Participating in this program are Primary school students from Anakie, Queenscliff, Forest, Kawarren, Gellibrand, Barongarook, Cudgee and Portland North; The National Museum of Australia Education Section; the Geelong Gallery and the Victorian Department of Education and Training.

Student responses to their community are captured in photographs, written work, oral histories and the visual arts. the students design and promote and exhibition about and for their community.

A section of images and work by the students will also be showcased with other participating schools in the Education Gallery at the Geelong Gallery and on the National Museum of Australia's web site.
