Snapshots of remote communities in Rural Victoria 2007
The Snapshots of Remote Communities project is a photography, storytelling and collecting project. It asks primary students living in rural and remote ares across Australia to document their community and to tell their stories. Student responses to their community are captured in photographs, written work, oral histories and the visual arts. the students design and promote and exhibition about and for their community. A section of images and work by the students will also be showcased with other participating schools in the Education Gallery at the Geelong Gallery and on the National Museum of Australia's web site. Victorian Essential Learning Standards The activities in this project meet a variety of Victorian Essential Learning Standards, across levels 2-4 of development in the Physical, Personal and Social Learning, Discipline-based Learning and Interdisciplinary Learning strands: The key revelance occurs in these domains: Physical, Personal and Social Learning - Interpersonal Development and Civics and Citizenship Discipline-based Learning in the Arts, English and the Humanities Interdisciplinary Learning in Communication, Design, Creativity and technology, Information and Communications Technology and Thinking.
