Join Dr Vincent Alessi, Curatorial Manager at the Ian Potter Museum of Art, The University of Melbourne, for a fascinating overview of the Basil Sellers Art Prize 4, a $100,000 biennial prize, which offers artists and viewers an opportunity to engage with the broad range of issues and ideas that sport can provoke.

As one of three judges of the 2014 Geelong contemporary art prize, Geelong Gallery Curator Lisa Sullivan, will provide a behind the scenes glimpse of this biennial exhibition and an introduction to some of the shortlisted paintings on display this year.

Earlier this year, Gallery Director, Geoffrey Edwards, joined a small party on an organised walk over several days across the Somme battlefields. Enjoy a celebratory glass of wine and light refreshments whilst hearing Geoffrey recall that walk, the sites visited, and exhibitions seen in Paris and London at the walk’s conclusion. Cost: $15.
