Enjoy the first Friday of the month with Friends. These inspiring talks are fundraising events for the Friends of the Gallery and begin at 10.30am with coffee, tea and scones before an illustrated lecture at 11.00am. No bookings required.

Candice Bruce 
The Longing 
Friday 5 July at 11.00am

Join art historian, curator and author, Dr Candice Bruce, who will discuss and read from her novel, The Longing, a tale of white settlement in Victoria's Western District, the local Indigenous clans and a landscape artist based on Eugene von Guérard. Copies of The Longing will be available for purchase in the Gallery Shop for $32.95. A book signing will follow the talk.

Reflections on the collection

Stephen Wickham will provide personal insights into his favourite works from the Geelong Gallery permanent collection. Wickham’s practice encompasses photography, printmaking and painting and his work is represented in a number of significant collections including the Geelong Gallery.
