Join Dr Gillian Turner for a special tour of Impressions of Geelong and a chance to reflect on a selection of works through writing. Limited places available. Duration —
1.5 hours.

  • No creative writing experience is necessary
  • Participants will explore the works on display while playing with ideas and daring to try new ways of writing
  • This workshop will not provide rules for traditional writing genres
  • Each participant will be free to respond to the works in any way they feel appropriate (such as a short story, poem, or a series of narrative fragments, journal entries, letters, or lists)
  • The outcome of this workshop will be a collection of fragments, of descriptive ideas, or possibly the beginnings of a piece that can be extended and worked upon later
  • There will be an opportunity for sharing of writing on a voluntary basis throughout the workshop and during refreshments at the conclusion of the workshop
