The Max Bell Gallery (Gallery X series) – Bishop and Reis
27 October 2012 to 2 December 2012

Geelong region artists program.

An installation that subverts national narratives and identity in a re-interpretation of two of Geelong Gallery’s iconic paintings View of Geelong (1856) by Eugène von Guérard and A bush burial (1890) by Frederick McCubbin. The installation replicates the space it occupies and simultaneously locates viewers in an interactive environment, inviting them to question their own place in the national story.
