Coinciding with the staging of this year’s Geelong Cup and Melbourne Cup, this display brings together two elaborate and rare trophies from the late 19th century: The 1888 Melbourne cup from the National Gallery of Australia’s Elaine and Jim Wolfensohn Gift, and the Geelong gold cup of 1890 by local artisan Edward Fischer from the Geelong Gallery collection.
