First Fridays

These occasions are fundraising events for the Friends of the Gallery and begin at 10.30am on the first Friday of each month with coffee, tea and scones before the illustrated lecture at 11am.

The cost is $8 for members and $10 for non-members.

Friends' Christmas event

Geoffrey Edwards, Director of the Geelong Gallery, delivers his annual review of current exhibitions and outlines some of the events in store for 2009. To be followed by a light luncheon and conviviality! (Please note: Little Malop Street will be closed to all traffic from 7.00am until 12.00 midnight this day in preparation for the Night arts market.)

The Friend's Christmas hamper raffle will be drawn at the luncheon. Raffle tickets are available at the Gallery for $2.

First Fridays morning lectures resume in February 2009.

The 'Friends' is a group responsible for promoting interest in the Gallery by presenting and hosting a monthly speakers' program as well as fundraising for Gallery improvements and acquisitions for the permanent collection.
