Abstraction: celebrating Australian women abstract artists

Saturday 25 February to Sunday 7 May 2017

Drawn from the extensive collection of the National Gallery of Australia, this exhibition revealed the astounding contribution Australian women artists have made to abstract art. Covering the work of 38 artists from a wide ranging period, the exhibition reveals a passion for colour, shape and rhythm and a dedication to experimentation and conceptual innovation. Includes works by Margaret Preston, Dorrit Black, Grace Crowley, Anne Dangar through to Inge King, Yvonne Audette, Margo Lewers, Janet Dawson and Melinda Harper, among others.
