Illustrated lecture—Josephine Rout
Thursday 25 July 2024, from 11.00am to 11.40am
Due to the popularity of this event, we have now updated the format to an illustrated lecture at GL&HC, Level 5.
Join Senior Curator at the National Wool Museum, Josephine Rout, for a fascinating tour exploring the history of Japanese textiles and fashion in a selection of ukiyo-e prints currently on display. Discover how these prints reflected the tastes and pleasures of the affluent Edo-period middle class.
Josephine Rout is a former Curator in the Asian Department at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and co-curator of the Victoria and Albert Museum exhibition, Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk (2020) and author of Japanese Dress in Detail, published by Thames and Hudson (2020).
