'Homelife' Statement:

Hannah enjoys exploring figurative compositions in both interior and exterior settings, in a painting practice largely driven by colour. In her figurative interior scenes, Hannah emphasizes colour, pattern, and painterly qualities over representational and realistic values, to create a semi-abstract aesthetic. She often uses herself and her family members as the subject of her figurative paintings, thus communicating a sense of nostalgia and familiarity.

'Newcastle ocean baths' Statement:

Hannah is an artist based in Torquay, who works predominantly with oil paint and enjoys exploring figurative compositions in both interior and exterior settings, in a painting practice largely driven by colour. Hannah is also drawn to painting figurative landscapes. Growing up on the Surf Coast, she has become particularly fond of the swimming culture in coastal towns, and the lifestyle which surrounds it. This prompts her to explore these themes throughout her practice, creating artworks inspired by her local surroundings on the Surf Coast, as well as other coastal areas she has visited around Australia.
