2019
Geelong Conservation was established in 2019, with a focus on fundraising events that provide special access to people and places not always readily available to the public.
Funds raised by Geelong Conservation to date have contributed to the conservation of Clarice Beckett’s Rainy day (1930), Walter Withers' Moonrise on the Yarra (1908) and Danila Vassilieff’s An accident I saw (1948) and You Yangs with car (1938).
In 2019, Injinoo artist Teho Ropeyarn won the 2019 Geelong acquisitive print awards for his work Lukuyn - Apudthama. According to the artist, the work emphasises the ancestral connection that maintains the strength of the four Injinoo clans who have lived on traditional lands for thousands of years. The four clans are represented by the four large red male ceremonial ‘U’ shaped markings.
