Geelong Gallery’s Foundation to VCE Art without borders learning box program allows students and educators to interact with the Geelong Gallery’s collection outside of the boundaries of the Gallery.
Geelong Gallery’s learning box program focuses on high-quality education that equips K-12 students with a broad range of knowledge, skills and personal qualities to confidently meet the challenges of life in a complex, information-rich and constantly changing world.
The Foundation to VCE Art without borders learning boxes use cultural objects and images of works of art from the Geelong Gallery’s permanent collection. Learning boxes are designed to assist in the delivery of the Victorian Curriculum, Foundation-10 and VCE Design Studies for teachers and schools to plan their teaching and learning programs, using the three strands, to enable their students to achieve the essential statewide learning standards.
Foundation to VCE Learning Boxes
The Learning Boxes have been developed to support educators in delivering their teaching and learning programs to achieve the essential learning standards in the Victorian Curriculum, Foundation-10, Australian Curriculum guidelines and Victorian Certificate of Education Study Designs. The boxes contain cultural objects, images of artworks from the Gallery’s permanent collection, background notes for educators and suggested learning activities for students.

These will inspire and develop cultural competence, build knowledge, skills and personal qualities to confidently meet the challenge of life in a complex, information-rich and constantly changing world.These learning boxes support early childhood educators and service providers in delivering the practice principles for learning and development outcomes for children up to 5 years:
