In Conversation—Dr Rosalind Hollinrake and Geelong Gallery Senior Curator Lisa Sullivan

Hear Geelong Gallery Senior Curator Lisa Sullivan, in conversation with curator and art historian, Dr Rosalind Hollinrake, as they explore the remarkable life and work of the artist Clarice Beckett (1887–1935).

Clarice Beckett was nearly forgotten for three decades after her death and is now considered one of Australia’s most important artists of her time, largely due to Hollinrake rediscovering Beckett’s work and salvaging almost 600 of Beckett’s paintings since the 1970s.

Hollinrake has curated and collaborated on several exhibitions of Clarice Beckett’s work, notably the national touring exhibition Clarice Beckett: Politically Incorrect (1999), and is currently completing a biography of the artist.

This event took place on Friday 28 April 2023.
