Clarice Beckett
Victorian Curriculum Levels 3 to 10—The Arts (Visual Arts), Humanities
Interpret and explore key works from Geelong Gallery's collection in the classroom or virtual classroom with a Gallery on Tour kit.
Our 2023 Gallery on Tour box explores Rainy day (1930), a painting by the artist Clarice Beckett. This free art-making kit includes everything needed by educators to engage remote and regional students in visual arts learning and facilitate a meaningful connection to their closest gallery collection:
—An introductory video
—An information resource on the artist and work
—Discussion questions
—An art-making activity
Engage your students in their visual arts learning and facilitate a meaningful connection to this significant artwork, from their closest regional gallery's collection.
In this free workshop, students will explore Clarice Beckett’s visual arts practice to use as inspiration to create their own landscape painting exploring colour and tone.
Gallery on Tour has been developed to support schools in the Barwon South region of Victoria with an engaging and practical arts experience aligned to the Victorian curriculum. The kits were designed to support an engaging 90-minute workshop facilitated by a classroom teacher (or where possible a Gallery educator onsite).
