Join artist Kait James as she discusses her tea towel works on display

Join artist Kait James as she discusses her tea towel works on display in A Moment in Time—Collecting Contemporary. These works are part of her Souvenirs series—based on Aboriginal calendar tea towels from the 1970s and ’80s that generalise and stereotype her culture.

Using humour, vibrant colours and familiar pop-cultural references, James subverts these representations and challenges perceptions of First Peoples and Indigenous heritage.
