Artist statement:

Untitled (silver on silver) is part of an ongoing suite of paintings that utilises the shifting chroma of metallic silver paint as a point of departure, continuing my material exploration of the physical and malleable manifestations of paint as a solid form. The undulating and folding forms of the paint skin surface shifts the role of the viewer from engaging an illusionistic and inward-looking perspective, to a position where the awareness of material, space and time becomes inextricably tied to the presence and environment the painting and viewer both occupy. Untitled (silver on silver) is a work that imbues an internal logic and attitude towards painting, addressing the material lexicon of painting with liberating form through experimentation and informed play.
