Artist statement:

In my work Self portrait, I explore the sense of disconnection from themes of violence and war as an effect of actual violent and mature media content. This work has been consciously titled and made to be a self-portrait that represents how I personally respond to these themes by disconnecting myself from real and shocking ideas and events. I have structured the piece similarly to a one-person shooter game to represent the alienating relationship between the viewer and the violent content. The colour palette shared by me and the shooter further illustrates this connection.
