Artist statement:

This array of small polaroid-like images depicts a view of the vast and rich Australian environment. Inspired by my 2023 immersion trip to the remote First Nations community of Santa Teresa located in the Northern Territory, these watercolour images highlight the fragility, picturesque qualities and diversity of the Australian landscape. While on the trip, I experienced firsthand the inviting and warm culture of First Nations Australians and gained a deeper understanding of their ongoing connection to country, community and culture. This inspired me to create a piece that reflects upon the significance of the Australian landscape.
