Collection leads: Zilverster (Goodwin & Hanenbergh)—Amator
Sharon Goodwin and Irene Hanenbergh bring aspects of their distinctive individual practices together in their collaborative project Zilverster. The artists’ shared interest in art history, fantasy, cult iconography, alchemy and supernatural phenomena informs their collaborative drawings and imagery etched into three-dimensional objects. In this ‘Collection leads’ exhibition they take their inspiration from the Gallery’s 1870 etching based on John Martin’s sublime painting The great day of his wrath (1851–53), in the Tate Collection, London.
