This work evokes promotional posters pasted onto the walls of urban environments. The repetition of images recalls the way in which posters promoting gigs, concerts, or clothing sales are affixed in multiples to achieve greater visual impact.

The minor variations in each of the profile portraits activate the work: simulating a series of photographic stills, or the frames of a movie reel. This approach is reminiscent of the multiples of American artist Andy Warhol, whose depictions of celebrities and public figures such as Marilyn Monroe, Jackie Kennedy, Mick Jagger and Mao Tse-tung were printed in seemingly endless colour combinations, and with subtle compositional differences.
