In 2020, Rone was one of several artists invited to create new works for West Side Place Artcade in Melbourne’s CBD: an initiative designed to encourage visitors back to the City as Covid-19 restrictions began to ease.

Working in an empty shopfront, Rone created an evocative pink-hued tableau suggesting a room ‘lost in time’ (viewable through the shop’s large-scale windows). The installation incorporated signature elements—a large-scale mural of a prone woman, carefully placed furnishings and props, and skilfully executed trompe l’oeil details—further extending the narrative established in Empire.
