NGV Kids on Tour—Designing perfume bottles

In the 1700s, perfume bottles became stylish accessories, crafted from luxurious materials such as glass, porcelain, and silver. Inspired by works on display in Geelong Gallery’s Decorative Arts Collection, participants will design their own illustrated perfume bottle.

Using imagery from nature, fantasy, or pop culture, participants are encouraged to imagine and express their personal style, and to consider how fragrance can be represented visually through colour, form and symbolism.
