Geelong Contemporary was formed in 2016 to support the growth and presentation of Geelong Gallery’s acclaimed collection of contemporary art, through advocacy, engagement and fundraising.

Becoming a Geelong Contemporary supporter is one of the most impactful ways to contribute to Geelong Gallery’s future.

Your contribution will directly support the acquisition of contemporary works for our Collection.

With exclusive invitations to supporter events and first-look viewings, you’ll have access to the artists and ideas shaping contemporary practice today.

Through an annual, tax-deductible donation of $1,000 or more, you will help to acquire major works of art for the community to enjoy and learn from for years to come. Contemporary art is vital to understanding who we are, the world around us, and the future we are shaping.

Help us shape a meaningful and lasting artistic legacy for our city.

Geelong Gallery Conservation

Geelong Gallery Conservation was established in 2019 and is committed to organising events that provide access to people and places not always readily accessible to the public.

All funds raised from Geelong Gallery Conservation events contribute to the conservation of priority works as nominated by the Gallery.

In 2019, funds raised by Geelong Gallery Conservation contributed to the conservation of Clarice Beckett’s Rainy day (1930) and Walter Withers' Moonrise on the Yarra (1908). In 2020, Danila Vassilieff’s An accident I saw (1948) was conserved. The Vassilieff painting is currently on display in the Douglass Gallery and the Withers work is part of the Gallery’s collection-based exhibition, Scenic Victoria—Land, sea, city.
